Donations
Criteria for donations of material
All material must be in good condition and within 2 years of print. Nothing that has been kept in a garage, basement or attic.
We cannot accept:
- Encyclopedias
- Text books
- Newspapers
- Reader’s Digest condensed books
- VHS tapes
- Periodicals (Magazines) by the box
Please be advised that should we have a copy of your donated material on our shelves your copy will be sold in the book sale and funds will go towards new materials.
Monetary donations can be made to the library
To make monetary donations to public libraries in Ontario, you can follow these general steps:
- Visit the library’s website: Each library has its own donation page or contact information.
- Contact the library directly: You can call or email the library’s CEO to inquire about donation options and to make a contribution.
- Choose your donation method: Libraries may offer various donation methods, such as online donations, cheque donations, or designated donations. Make sure to check the library’s website for specific instructions on how to make a donation.
- Receive a charitable tax receipt: When making a donation of $25 or more, you will receive a Charitable Tax Receipt. This receipt can be used for tax deduction purposes.
- Support library initiatives: Your donation can help fund various library programs, events, and services that support the community, such as special collections, events and programs.
